1:1 Technology Initiative Update -
As many of you know, Grass Lake Community Schools has embarked on a project to provide each of our Kindergarten through 12th grade students with a personal computing device (iPad or Chromebook) beginning some time in January, 2017, thanks to a large grant from the Thompson Foundation. A tri-fold brochure has been created to share more information about the project and to announce a flexible schedule of parent meetings that will support the process. Go toáhttp://bit.ly/2bRTpmBáfor this brochure.
Great Start Readiness Program
The Great Start Readiness Preschool Program (GSRP) is coming to Grass Lake Community Schools this Fall!! áThe Great Start Readiness Program is a high-quality preschool program funded by the State of Michigan to ensure that all 4 year olds can have a Great Start towards their school success. áChildren must be 4 years old by September 1, 2015 but some children may be considered if they are 4 years old by December 1, 2015. áThe Great Start Readiness Preschool Program was created to expand 4 year old preschool opportunities to include lower, middle and higher income families. áFor example, a family of 4 can make $60,625 or lower andáreceive a free preschool spot. áFamilies above this income level may alsoáreceive a GSRP preschool spot for a small fee. áComplete the on-line preschool interest form at the Great Start Collaborative web-site;áwww.greatstartjackson.orgáto begin the process of signing your child up for the GSRP program. áAny questions regarding the GSRP program can be answered by calling Kelly Sheppard, Great Start/Early Childhood Coordinator at 517-768-5281.
